School Settlement Worker (SWIS program)
As part of a multidisciplinary team the School Settlement Worker will facilitate the school orientation and family settlement experience of students by providing settlement support services to students and parents to ensure that newcomer families are aware of and enabled to access the full array of community and school services. This is an eight month contract with a possibility of extension. The contract is for 35 hours per week starting September 1, 2018. Working closely with the Executive Director, the Financial Administrator oversees the financial health of our agency by administering sound accounting operations to meet legal requirements. You must have a solid understanding of audits, invoices and budget preparations. Our ideal candidate demonstrates interest and strong competency in managing accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable. You should also have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks such as government financial reporting. Ultimately, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of our financial transactions and procedures.
