**CLOSED** School Settlement Worker (SWIS Program)


The School Settlement Worker  facilitates the school orientation and family settlement experience of students by providing settlement support services to students and parents to ensure that newcomer families are aware of and enabled to access the full array of community and school services.This is an eight month contract with a possibility of extension for 28 hours per week-week starting September, 2017. The Community Outreach Worker uses their community development skills and passion to connect newcomers to Immigrant Services and other networks within Guelph Wellington by supporting co-located services and active neighbourhood outreach. The Community Outreach Worker will also co-ordinate settlement related information sessions and work closely with IS-GW staff and community partners to provide seamless referrals. This is an eight month contract with a possibility of extension for 28 hours per week-week starting September, 2017. The Learning Co-ordinator develops and supports the formation and maintenance of Conversation Circles, Computer Clubs and other mutual support groups. The Learning Co-ordinator will work with service partners, other groups and community members to support a sustainable learner-centred model, driven by the goals and needs of new Canadians on their pathway to settlement. This is an eight month contract with a possibility of extension for 28 hours per week-week starting September, 2017.
