Translation and Interpretation

IS-GW is committed to serving immigrants and refugees who have made Guelph their new home. We are committed to providing quality services to our clients. Translation and interpretation are very important services and demand quality assurance. We are in the process of creating a translation and interpretation program that is based on best practices in the field.

Through the expertise of our staff, volunteers, and independent community members, we are able to provide translation and cultural interpretation services in a variety of languages. These people offer their foreign language skills and time to assist with the language needs of persons wanting to access services in Guelph and Wellington.

The purpose of TIP is to develop an Interpretation & Translation Language Bank (ITLB) which will serve Wellington County and Guelph to:

  • enable service providers in social, health, educational, governmental and other essential services to communicate with clients who have language barriers;
  • increase access to human services by linguistically and culturally diverse individuals;
  • reduce the possibility of decisions based on misunderstood information or racial/cultural stereotypes.

Our TIP services are based on the following principles: Accessibility, Objectivity, Affordability and Confidentiality. When the employees of IS-GW are involved, we can assure quality and reliability.

We gratefully acknowledge the support of our funders:
