Resources for Service Providers

One of Project Wisdom's goals has been to create resources for use by seniors' health and social service providers to build individual and system capacity to serve cultrually and linguistically diverse communities, particulary in the context of elder abuse.

The resources created under Project Wisdom and included below are the products of an extensive literature review, consultations with ethnocultural seniors and their families in Guelph, consultations with professionals working in seniors` health and social services, and collaboration with local networks and agencies including the Wellington Seniors Services Network and Translation and Interpretation Program Services (TIPS, Immigrant Services Guelph-Wellington).

These resources have been prepared under the assumption that readers/participants already have a basic familiarity with the major issues and current best practices in elder abuse awareness prevention and intervention. In reading through the following sections, think of adding new layers, or ‘lenses’ to what you already know and do.
