The Wisdom Committee
Project Wisdom is guided by two complementary advisory committees: The Wisdom Committee and the Advisory Committee.
The Wisdom Committee is a culturally diverse group of older adults who volunteer to contribute their wisdom to guiding and supporting the project. The generous and committed support of members of this committee is the source of Project Wisdom’s unique strength; ensuring that seniors themselves are shaping the project to respond to needs they seein their peers and communities.
Core responsibilities include:
- Using professional and life experience to form and guide project activities
- Reviewing and providing feedback on the development of the project and its products (including focus group material, training material, handbooks, and other material as needed).
- Sharing ideas about culturally appropriate approaches to awareness raising, prevention, and intervention on elder abuse
- Helping with disemination of project information and resources to ethnocultural communities
