Circle of Learning

Immigrant Services – Guelph Wellington recognizes that Emerging Newcomer and Refugee Communities are central to advancing Canada’s economic potential. Immigrant and refugee communities bring much needed skills and experience that strengthens the workplace and enhances the economy’s overall vitality.

With support from the Co-operators Foundation Community Economic Development Fund, Immigrant Services ‐ Guelph Wellington is embarking on a new initiative to enhance services to help prepare emerging newcomer and refugee communities for financial independence. A continuum of employment‐focused services, including skills training and pre-employment placement will enable newcomers with low English skills to become familiar with and enter the job market as fast as possible. A component of social enterprise and self‐employment training will also support alternate routes to financial independence.

We look forward to working with our many external partners throughout the community including government and non-governmental groups, education centres, adult-training programs, employers, social service groups and industry leaders.
